A Horse Person's Christmas

For those of us who had a few last gifts to buy this weekend, we had to brave the full parking lots and long check out lines. It makes you wish you bought what you wanted weeks ago. And you swear that next year, you'll do your shopping early (but you know that's probably not going to happen!).

Hopefully, you are all done your shopping now and are ready to start to enjoy the holiday season...

This is the time of year when special family traditions are practised and everyone tries to come together again. It's a time of year when it can be stressful for some and comforting to others.

No matter what you do, one thing that is done at Christmas time is the exchanging of gifts. For horse people, we usually ask for things we would need for the barn. We care much more about a new blanket or breeches than the latest gadgets. We love our horses and we would like to receive things that are horse related, but what we might receive at Christmas might not be what we expected...

This video from SmartPak shows the true realities a horse person will experience at least once in their lives when it comes to receiving presents.

As funny as this video is, it also really does happen to horse riders around the world. So this video got me thinking, what horse themed weird gifts have you received in the past?

We all know that these gifts were bought out of the kindness of their hearts. Chances are, they might not understand the world of an equestrian. But, they saw a horse related thing at the store and thought of you. And you know what they say, it's the thought that counts!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays,
  Until next time, happy riding!
